Do I need an Apple Watch?

Yes. Training Today uses health data recorded by Apple Watch, with a companion app on iPhone. Check the App Store for current compatibility. Supported structured workouts have additional device and software requirements.

What is the Readiness to Train score?

RTT uses heart rate variability (HRV) readings from Apple Health and your personal baseline to help you assess readiness. Use it alongside how you feel and your recent training. It can change as new data arrives.

Why is my readiness score missing or showing zero?

Check that Training Today has permission to read the relevant Apple Health data. In the Health app, check whether recent HRV readings exist, and wear your Watch regularly. Open Training Today on both devices. A new setup may need more history. If the problem continues, contact support with your app version and device details.

Where can I check Health permissions?

Review Training Today in the Health app’s app-access settings or the iPhone’s Health privacy settings. Enable the data types needed for the features you use. Workout scheduling permission is separate from permission to read health data.

When does Apple Watch record HRV?

Apple Watch records HRV at intervals rather than continuously. Check the timestamps of actual samples in Apple Health if your score has not changed. Training Today depends on readings that Apple Health makes available.

Why has RTT not changed just after a workout?

Completing a workout does not guarantee a new HRV sample. RTT depends on the available health readings and adaptations, while completed training is recorded separately. Check recent HRV samples in Apple Health and reopen Training Today.

Does Training Today account for sleep?

Yes. Sleep adaptation is available in the current app and needs suitable sleep history. Review the sleep settings and Health permissions. Old articles saying sleep is not considered no longer describe the current feature set.

Why does my chart look different, or a past value change?

Check the selected time range and the settings in your installed version. New health data and changes to adaptations or presentation settings can affect what appears. If something still looks wrong, send support a screenshot, the date concerned and your app version. Older intensity and smoothing advice may refer to a different release.

How do RTT, AIS and OFI differ?

RTT helps you assess readiness. AIS describes activity intensity and training load. OFI is a personal HRV-based trend indicator. They describe different things and should not be expected to move together after every session.

Can I change the suggested workout challenge?

Yes. Review the workout and adjust its RTT tier before choosing it. Where available, Shorter offers a shorter variant. Take how you feel and the session’s purpose into account.

Do I need an event to use Your Week?

No. Your Week can suggest sessions from your sports, available days and preferences. Event preferences can influence the mix, but automated progression and tapering are not yet available.

Will changing preferences remove workouts I chose?

Saving preferences refreshes suggestions while keeping chosen workouts. Turning suggestions off removes unaccepted suggestions while keeping chosen and completed workouts. Reset and remove existing workouts is a separate action; read its confirmation before using it.

Can I add my own session or strength training?

Yes. Use Add session to include your own training, with a name, sport and duration. Strength & conditioning lets you plan exercises, mobility or stretching. These sessions contribute to your estimated weekly training time.

Why is my workout not on Apple Watch?

Check workout scheduling permission, the paired Watch connection and compatible software. Confirm Apple Watch was selected as a destination and look at the delivery status on iPhone. Open Training Today on the Watch to check the session. If delivery failed, resolve the reported issue before trying again.

Why do iPhone and Apple Watch show different information?

Open Training Today on both paired devices and check that the Watch is connected. Allow time for Health data and app updates to transfer. A complication or widget can refresh later than the app itself. If the difference persists, contact support with screenshots and timestamps.

Why is my widget behind or asking me to open the app?

Apple controls widget refresh timing. Open Training Today on iPhone after changing your plan so the display can update. Open the Watch app if its widget is behind. At a new day, a workout widget may ask you to open the app before showing the new plan.

Does TrainingPeaks sharing upload my workouts automatically?

Readiness and health-metric sharing, including optional daily sync, is separate from completed workout upload. Upload a completed workout from Workout Analytics after granting workout-upload access. Sharing readiness does not mean a planned workout has been uploaded.

What can I send to ROUVY?

Supported cycling workouts can be sent from Workout destinations after connecting ROUVY. Power targets need cycling power settings and a consistent FTP in both apps. Check the delivery result and confirm the workout in ROUVY. Copies already sent remain there after a Training Today plan reset.

What is free and what needs Premium?

The free app includes your current RTT, recent readiness history, current sleep and resting heart rate, recent OFI trends and Apple Watch readiness complications. Premium adds adaptive workouts, Your Week, workout analytics, longer-term insights, integrations and additional widgets. Check the purchase screen for the current Premium options.

How do I restore an existing purchase?

Use the restore-purchases option in Training Today with the Apple account used for the purchase. If access is still missing, contact support with the purchase type, app version and any error shown. Check with support before buying again.

How do I change or cancel my subscription?

Open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions and select Training Today. Apple shows the available options, renewal date and cancellation controls. The app’s purchase screen shows current prices and any offers available to your account.

What happens to my health data?

Apple Health permissions control the data Training Today can access. Connected services such as TrainingPeaks require separate authorization for supported sharing. Review the privacy policy for the full explanation, and contact support if you have a data question.

Can I use Training Today with Siri?

Training Today provides App Shortcuts for supported actions. Check the Shortcuts app for the actions available in your installed version. Older examples may refer to actions or setup steps that have changed.

What should I check if Watch readings or battery use seem unusual?

Check that the Watch fits comfortably and can record health readings, and compare recent samples in Apple Health. For unusual battery use, note when it started and whether an update or workout was involved. Send support your device, software and app versions so the issue can be investigated.
